When a microphone is either too loud or too quiet, try adjusting the sound levels.
- Right-click the sound icon in the Windows system tray
- Click Sounds
- Click on the Recording tab
- Right-click your microphone
- Click Properties
- Click the Levels tab
- Adjust the slider to the desired output volume
- Click OK, then OK again, to close out the Sound menu
